I photographed Austin and Olivia’s wedding four years ago, and I was SO excited to capture them again – this time with their sweet baby girl! Parents ask me all the time how they should dress their baby. Have no fear – this blogpost will give you all my tips for how to dress your baby for a newborn session!

1. First and foremost, I will always suggest something that is well fitted for the first look. You don’t want a tiny baby getting lost in a sea of material!
2. I always suggest keeping it simple. A well fitted white onesie will always be a favorite look of mine!
3. Have a neutral colored, lightly patterned muslin blanket or two on hand to wrap the baby in as needed.
4. You don’t want to cover all those baby bits up in a full on outfit. Who doesn’t love baby toes and hands?!

It can be very tempting to dress your baby up in all the cute accessories, but we always want the focus to be the baby, not the clothes! Keep it neutral and simple – let the cuteness of your little one shine!
