The first wedding of 2026 set the tone for the entire season, and what a beautiful way to begin. Terri and Scott’s wedding at Ashcombe Mansion in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania was the kind of small, intentional celebration that reminds you exactly why intimate weddings hold such a special place in my heart.
With just 40 of their closest family and friends gathered together, the entire day felt unhurried. There was room to breathe and truly take it all in! That kind of presence is what every couple deserves on their wedding day.
Ashcombe Mansion is one of those venues that feels effortlessly elegant in every season, but there is something extra special about it in the late winter. Soft natural light pouring through the windows, and a layout that moves easily from getting ready to ceremony to cocktail hour to reception, all under one roof!
Terri got ready at the mansion while Scott headed in from home, and the entire day flowed beautifully from start to finish. Because they were staying at the mansion overnight, there was no rush and no abrupt ending. Just a slow, joyful close to the most meaningful day of their lives.
Cold weather portraits are some of my absolute favorites, and Terri and Scott embraced them so beautifully. Even with the chilly March air, we stepped outside for snuggly, romantic shots that captured the quiet magic of late winter at Ashcombe!
Terri added a shrug over her gown, and the result was elegant and timeless. There is something about cold weather photos that brings couples in even closer. It is the snuggle-in-tight, lean-on-each-other energy that creates some of the most romantic images of the day! So if you are dreaming of a winter wedding, do not shy away from the cold. Lean into it.
Terri and Scott chose not to have a bridal party, and it was such a beautiful reminder that you do not need formality to have a meaningful day. Without the pressure of large group logistics, they were able to focus on what truly mattered. Quality time with the people they love most.
This is what I love most about intimate weddings. Every guest is fully present. Every interaction feels meaningful. And every photo tells a story of genuine connection rather than orchestrated tradition!
Terri and Scott’s wedding was the perfect beginning to this new wedding season. Cozy. Intentional. Filled with the people who matter most. It was a reminder that the most meaningful weddings are not always the biggest, but the ones that leave space for real moments and real love!
If you are dreaming of an intimate wedding at a venue like Ashcombe Mansion, let this day be your sign that small, simple, and deeply personal is more than enough!
