This in-home newborn session was everything I love about lifestyle photography – real, relaxed, and so full of heart. Getting to reconnect with past couples is one of the best parts of this job! I first met Kaitlyn and Clayton during their stunning micro wedding at Wyndridge Farm (see their wedding here!), and they’ve stayed in my heart ever since.
When they reached out to let me know they were starting their family, I was absolutely thrilled! There’s nothing better than seeing these love stories come full circle. Kaitlyn and Clayton are the kindest, most down-to-earth couple, and now they’re just as sweet in their new roles as mom and dad!
One of my favorite things about photographing in a client’s home is finding those magical pockets of natural light. The McKinley home did not disappoint! We played with the direct light streaming through the windows to create images that felt dynamic and full of warmth. Those light-and-shadow moments gave the session such beautiful depth and movement!
Even more special? We were able to incorporate personal elements like Clayton’s guitar and their sweet dogs into the session. These little details bring so much personality to the final gallery and truly reflect this new chapter in their lives.
Newborn sessions don’t have to be perfectly styled or overly posed. What matters most is capturing your life as it is right now – with all the cuddles, yawns, baby stretches, and yes, maybe even a little chaos. There’s so much beauty in that. In-home newborn sessions allow families to relax, move at their own pace, and create images that are full of meaning and authenticity.
And remember, you don’t need a magazine-worthy home – just some love, some light, and a little trust that we’ll capture it all in a way you’ll cherish forever!
Whether we’ve worked together before or you’re just beginning your journey with professional photography, I’d love to help you document your growing family. These early days go by in a blur, but the photos you take now will mean everything later.
